Countryside Veterinary Service in Champion offers pet boarding and daycare services for cats and dogs so you can enjoy peace of mind whether you're away for vacation, or for work.

Boarding Requirements

  • Dogs 
    • Must be current on DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines
    • Must have had a negative fecal test run within the last six months
    • Must be current on heartworm test
  • Cats
    • Must be current on FVRCP and Rabies vaccines
    • Must have had a negative fecal test run within the last six months

*Cancellations within 24 hours will result in a fee equal to the amount of one night of boarding per pet scheduled.

Countryside Veterinary Service in Champion is seeking dedicated Pet Care Attendants to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe and fun environment for dogs/cats in our boarding facility. Your primary focus in this position will be animal husbandry and enrichment.

Duties

  • Provide basic care for dogs, including feeding, administering medications as needed, and occasional bathing.
  • Client communication (schedule boarding reservations, take payment for boarding stays, communicate medical concerns as needed, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness of the boarding facility by regularly cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment, as well as other areas of the hospital as needed.
  • Monitor dog behavior and health, reporting any concerns to management/medical staff.
  • Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or managing larger dogs.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both the dogs and staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience in animal care or handling is preferred; previous work in a kennel or veterinary setting is a plus.
  • Strong skills in dog handling, including knowledge of animal restraint techniques.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as required for the role.
  • Familiarity with dog training methods and pet grooming practices is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine love for animals are essential.
  • Must have flexible hours

Job Type: Part-time

Shift: 4 - 6 hour shifts (depending on number of pets), split shifts

Work Days:

  • Weekends
  • Holidays
  • Weekdays, as needed
